Terms and Conditions


It is compulsory to present the e-mail when picking up the vehicle. The driver must present a valid identity card or passport and a driving licence issued at least one year previously. For customers from countries outside the European Community, we recommend the use of an international driving licence (IDP - International Driving Permit).


Prices include

  • Own Damage Insurance with Deductible
  • Car Theft Insurance with respective Deductible
  • Mandatory civil liability insurance
  • 24-hour roadside assistance
  • VAT at the legal rate in force

Airport pick-up service

A duly accredited and identified GO DRIVE employee will be next to the arrivals door, welcoming the customer and escorting them to the previously reserved vehicle.

Fuel

Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level at the time of delivery. If the customer delivers the vehicle with a lower fuel level than that recorded at the time of delivery, a refueling fee will be applied, which will be added to the fuel cost.

Insurance information

Rates include mandatory civil liability, collision and vehicle theft insurance (with deductible).
Objects left inside the vehicle are not covered by the insurance policy and are the sole responsibility of the driver.

Out of hours service

A fee will be charged for all vehicles picked up/returned before/after the normal opening hours of the rental station.

Times when the Out of Hours Fee applies:
19:00 – 07:00 – 09:00 (€25.00)

Circulation restrictions

The movement of vehicles from the GO DRIVE fleet outside mainland Portugal is not authorized.
Driving in other countries of the European community will only be possible with written authorization from GO DRIVE. If the customer does not inform the departure outside of mainland Portugal, in the event of an accident or breakdown of the vehicle, they will be held responsible for all consequences, including the costs of repatriating the damaged/broken vehicle, among others.
Leaving the country will have a direct impact on the price of the reservation depending on the number of days.

Return of the vehicle

GO DRIVE authorizes the return of the rented vehicle up to 60 minutes after the scheduled time. Once this period of time has been exceeded, one day's rental will be charged in accordance with the rental rate posted at the station.
If the customer does not deliver the vehicle within the agreed period, it will be driven illegally, assuming any and all responsibility for the payment of fines, fees and other expenses that GO DRIVE may eventually incur. All additional coverage and insurance contracted will also be void.


Rental extension

If the customer wishes to extend the rental contract, they must, before the end of the rental contract, contact the GO DRIVE Reservation Center in order to check the availability of the vehicle and the remaining rental conditions.
A new rental contract will always be issued and signed.

Other important information

  • Flight Information: If the reservation is made to the Airport, be sure to mention the flight number. If you do not do so and the flight is delayed until the rental station closes, your reservation will be cancelled.
  • All reservations are subject to confirmation by GO DRIVE.
  • Once the rental has started, no amount will be refunded (rental value and extras) even if the vehicle is returned before the stipulated deadline.
  • Complaints can be sent within a maximum period of 30 days after the start of the rental.
  • Loss or damage to the key and/or any vehicle documentation is the sole responsibility of the customer.
  • Smoking is prohibited in GO DRIVE fleet vehicles. If the vehicle is returned with a tobacco odor, a cleaning fee of €150 will be charged.
  • Vehicles must be delivered in the clean state in which they are picked up. If excessive soiling is found, a cleaning fee of €150 will be charged.
